What is Ride for the Relay?
The Ride for the Relay is a ride that we made of old Route 66 from the Navy Pier in Chicago to the pier in Santa Monica California to raise money for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

I joined up with five other motorcycles in Jackson Illinois at Rodger Fox's place. We plan to pick up another group along the way and meet up with the rest of the riders at the Doubletree in Chicago.
Rodger's new bike sports a windscreen with Route 66 etched into the lower portion. Rodger provided the "Cancer Sucks" stickers for all of the motorcycles riding in the event.
This was the windscreen on Bobby Taylor's Harley, which was the only Harley riding with us. The stickers indicate that he is a member of the Texas Masonic Lodge and a retired Law Enforcement Officer. His Harley was the quietest one I have ever heard, and was comparable to the Goldwings.
Bobby hails from Murchison Texas.
Rodger placed this stand up sign on his trailer when we stopped, and at the front desk of the hotels that we stopped at along the Route. Later we would all sign it and indicate where we were from.
I'm not used to staying a hotel where the doors to my room were glass, so I had to take this photo to remember it.
This custom motorcycle is manufactured in Troop Texas and is called a "Stallion". It sports a Ford Ranger engine an automatic transmission and a steering wheel.

Downtown Chicago. I believe that the building furthest to the right is the Sears Tower.
The motorcycles lined up to leave the Navy Pier in Chicago. I don't recall how many we had to start with, perhaps someone that was there can remember?
